The Maritime Institute of the University of Ghent is organizing its 14the Maritime Congress on 19 May 2010 . The congress will debate about the problems of greenhouse gas emissions caused by international shipping and about the measures proposed by IMO and EU to reduce these emissions.

Het Maritiem Instituut van de Universiteit van Gent houdt zijn 14de Maritiem Symposim op 19 mei 2010. Het symposium zal handelen over de problemen van de uitstoot van broeikasgassen door de internationale scheepvaart en over de door IMO en EU voorgestelde maatregelen om die uitstoot te verminderen. Het symposium gaat door onder de veelzeggende titel "Smoke or no smoke: that is the question".
